4. Drag the AppleScan folder icon onto the hard disk.
The entire contents of the AppleScan folder must remain in the same folder. If the AppleScan application is moved to the desktop, place all other files and documents in your System folder.

1. If the Macintosh you are using is off, turn it on.
2. Insert the Apple Scanner disk into a disk drive.
The Apple Scanner disk icon appears on the desktop.

3. Double-click the Apple Scanner disk icon to open the Apple Scanner disk’s window.
The Apple Scanner disk contains:
- AppleScanner driver
- LaserWriter printer driver
- Laser Prep file
- AppleScan folder
